Fotis Kossivas

Fotis Kossivas received his B.Sc. in Physics and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cyprus in 2005 and 2012, respectively.

He has worked thus far in several research projects in the fields of engineering, bioengineering, and material characterization.

Specifically, he has been involved in RFP and FP7 projects, including the WAVES project on the design, manufacturing and installation of a mechanical system that generates electricity from sea waves (June-July 2012), the project on mechanical tissue characterization and stress and strain imaging of the murine heart (2011-2012), the Nanoma program (2010-2011), the study of mechanical properties of living cells using the atomic force microscope and the design of a microfluidic device for cancer detection (July-September 2008), the analysis of pumps in corrosion and their proper preparation and coating for increasing their lifetime under the Thermoelectric Nanosensor Networks, the Liquid Crystal Sensor Design, and an internally funded UCY program (2006-2009).
